So, today at work, I started singing the theme song from Paladin (and yes, I know the show was called Have Gun, Will Travel, but I always called it Paladin). One of my techs, who is *cough* a bit older than me, looked up and said, "Isn't that before your time?" I replied that yes, it was, but it was still a great song. Now, I'll grant you that I learned it mostly from young Wil Wheaton and company in Stand by Me, but that's not the only place I've heard it. See, I went through a Western phase in high school. I watched them all. The ones I'd seen in reruns as a kid and some I'd never seen before. This conversation reminded me of my favorite, so I looked it up on YouTube. Yep. Still very, very cool.

Gene Autry movies on at 7 a.m. on Saturdays. I would get up and actually watch the test pattern (yes, I'm old enough to remember when TV went off the air every night)until they came on. And I liked Champion much better than Trigger.

And there was also Steve McQueen in "Wanted Dead or Alive". I'm sure Joss Whedon stole Zoe's mare's leg from Josh Randall.

Loved "The Big Valley", "Alias Smith and Jones","Bonanza", "Rawhide" (young Clint Eastwood as Rowdy Yates and I'll never forget the song either), "Wagon Train" and "Gunsmoke".

"Have Gun, Will Travel" was my Dad's favorite so I saw a lot of them.

Dude, stations still go off the air at night, and when I was in college, one of the ones I watched a lot did. And I watched it say goodnight every night. These things still happen.

As for Zoe's mare's leg, well, since that one is from The Adventures of Brisco County, we'll have to ask them, huh?
