Sunday, at Dragon Con 2015, 11 AM...and I missed the G.I. Joe photoshoot this year to do another.

I'm so glad I did. This shoot was a ton of fun, and I truly enjoyed the making and wearing of my version of Max Rockatansky. But next time, I might just have to go as a War Boy. So much fun, that. WAR BOYS! :D (Nah...we all know I'm a Max through and through.)

Here's a new one, about the best thing I saw at Dragon Con. I was saving that for its own entry, and here it is. Also, I ran into [livejournal.com profile] werewulf there (and it was the second time I unintentionally saw her this year - hooray for happy conincidences*)!

*Not that it's really a conincidence that an awesome lady would be at a photoshoot for an awesome movie, but whatever, right?

So. Dragon Con. I vacillated a lot on whether I was going this year, for valid reasons.

But then, [livejournal.com profile] taj_mahal07 told me about this, and I reserved a hotel room. *grin*

Not that I wouldn't have ended up trying my best to go anyway, but some Fringe (and Sleepy Hollow!) never hurts these days. Now...what to cosplay? It is, after all, April...hm...yeah, right. I'll probably end up making something new in, like, August. *shrug*

So, Anderson and Anderson confirmed?

Meh.

Now, just now finding out that [livejournal.com profile] dragonfly_sg1 is coming to Dragon*Con? WOO-HOO!

I saw this earlier tonight and made a noise that made hubby jump up and ask me what was wrong. Nothing, honey. Absolutely nothing. And I really do try to limit the D*C guest announcement fits to a minimum, but...um...SQUEEEEEEE!

*Also, the fact that I took this pic at 11:13? Hahahahahaha! Nice unintentional mixture of the two most famous times in fandom!

EDIT: So, Gillian is actually still just in negotiations to come to D*C. Her website says she's coming, but D*C hasn't announced it officially after all. Boo. We shall see. But I'm fine either way. I have a few guests I'd love to see (one I will not mention for fear of jinxing it), but I mostly go to D*C to see my friends and be amongst my people for a while. Guests are great and all, but not the be all end all of cons for me. Haven't been for a long time, so it's cool. That said, I'd love if Gillian did make it. We shall see.

Presented without further comment.

Okay. A little comment-never thought I'd see the day, with PAX conflicting ah, that explains it. PAX is not over Labor Day weekend this year. Thanks, PAX! And with Paul and Storm and JoCo coming, too?!?

Looks like a w00tstock will be in town!!!

OhBoyOhBoyOhBoy! It's the other Doctor Beckett!

I found the entire Quantum Leap panel from Dragon*Con online! I missed this panel simply because I didn't see it in the program and I was so bummed! But through the miracle of the internet, I can watch now. SQUEE! It's in four parts, covering the entire thing. Thank you Project Quantum Leap!

Dean Stockwell and Scott Bakula together for the first time in fifteen years!

So, I'm not the world's biggest SGU fan, but I did stick with it for the entire first season, and it did improve. I came to rather like Colonel Young, and a few other characters came to annoy me less. However, one character intrigued me from the beginning. TJ. Yep, I like the female medic. I like her more now that I've seen the actor who portrays her, Alaina Huffman, go along with Paul McGillion's ribbing of Martin Gero for the SGA ep Sunday. (If you have to ask why Paul would rib Martin over that episode, just move along. This is not the LJ entry you're looking for.) I also respect Alaina for behaving gracefully at Dragon*Con. But there's another reason that the very thought of TJ makes me giggle nowadays.

What's your thing with doctors? )

So, I don't have too many of those songs where when I hear them they take me back to a certain time or place or whatever.

But there are a few. For example, when I hear YMCA, I see a certain young man dancing on a picnic table at midnight in my mind. (Oh, Tyler...you lovely, lovely boy.) And Dragon*Con 2009 forever cemented a memory with Journey's Don't Stop Believing.

This year, that happened again. I didn't know this until I heard the song in question twice on the radio in the past week. One of my receptionists likes to put on the oldies station, and when "Sha-na-na-na, Sha-na-na-na, Hey-hey-hey, Good Bye!" comes on now, I can only hear Robert O'Reilly and J.G. Hertzler, dressed fully as Gowron and Martok, sing it in Klingon, or at least partially so.

"Sha-na-na-na, Sha-na-na-na, Hey-hey-hey, Q'Apla!"

To hopefully cheer up [livejournal.com profile] roboticonograph , because she's sad.

I don't know what the hell these guys are doing exactly, but I know they made me giggle, and they were damn good sports. Hurray for random man flesh!
