If you look in my sidebar, you'll see a link to the American Library Association. I've supported this group for years. I loved Banned Books Week, and heartily endorse the ALA's strong stance against censorship. But it was their super cool READ posters that first got me interested in the organization. I mean Yoda had one, for crying out loud! How cool is that?

Well, it seems I'm not the only one to think that way. Kids Need to Read has been lobbying all parties involved to get Nathan Fillion on a poster, and it has finally happened! After over a year of work, the photos were taken last month, and now...finally...we can reveal this!

Oh, and what's that book in Nathan's hands? Why, yes. It is Awakening on Orbis 4 by PJ Haarsma! Way to go, Nate! Be true to your roots! Incidentally, the poster is not yet for sale, but it will be available mid-July from the ALA website. I'll be sure to let you know when that happens. After all, I would be remiss if I didn't let you help libraries raise funds AND get a little Nathan decor. Very remiss indeed.

Everyone here knows I have no OTP. No, the words "one true pairing" and "wabbit" are not compatible.

But if I had one, it'd be the one highlighted best in the Firefly episode Out of Gas.

And here be more proof of its validity.  Sigh...

In case you don't know, that be the new Serenity model from QMX (GORGEOUS!) that made her debut at SDCC. It seems she's so perfect even the captain himself loves her. And who can blame him? QMX's response to the younger Fillion's response? One word, folks. One word. "SQUEE!!!!!!!!!"

Boys and their toys...in other words, more here. )

Those of you who went to Can't Stop the Serenity this year have already seen this, but since we've been given the go-ahead to share it far and wide now, well...sharing it far and wide I am!  Click here to see a brand-new, super-shiny Nathan Fillion and PJ Haarsma vid!

What could it be?

Hm...just can't think of it...hm...think, think, think!

Oh, wait! I know! )
jackwabbit: (Nathan-Read2)
Or at least working together?  Surely not!  Oh, the scandal!  Nothing good could come of that.

The Guardian begs to disagree, and it lists none other than PJ Haarsma as the only modern author to pick up the long-forgotten video game torch in this article!  Take a read.  What do you think?  Do we need more authors to write video games?  I, for one, am on board with that.

Man, I love these guys.  *love*  Esp the tallest one.  No offense to the short ones, of course.  LMAO.

Remember the "girls don't do sci-fi" girls?  Well, they've got some new members and they're definite contenders for the cuteness crown:

Sorry, Nate, this one steals the show.  I LOVE this picture.  This, friends, is what KNTR is all about.  Thanks to James of the California Browncoats for the image.  (This little girl is bragging that she's older than Nathan here, but I see her describing far off lands just as easily.)

And this one, well, hello young fangirl.  Nice to meet you.  You know...I've got a tattoo just like that...

Yesterday, PJ Haarsma had a book release party at a Barnes & Noble in Oceanside, California for the third book in his Softwire series, Wormhole Pirates On Orbis 3. He managed to wrangle two of his friends into attending with him. The event was a smashing success, with over 100 children attending. The men of the hour managed to get everyone's items signed before one of them had to rush off to some wedding (congrats Maurissa and Jed!) and I'm sure that once the totals are tabulated, KNTR will have benefitted substansially from this little shindig! (25% of the proceeds from book sales during the event went to KNTR! And don't forget that you can use this coupon to have your purchase at any Barnes and Noble in the US this week do the same!) And now, cue the music.

It's comforting to know that some things never change... )

Thank you to Nathan and Alan for helping out!  I have more pictures to share later, but that's all for now!

P.S.-anyone know an economical way for me to hop from Atlantic to Pacific routinely?  *g*  (To clarify, I was not at this event, which, for the record, is a damn shame.)

PJ Haarsma has a new book coming out April 14.  It's the third installment in his Softwire series, and I've been dying to read it.  What good timing PJ has!  The book is due to come out just after my birthday.  Or maybe just before, eh?  I've been given permission to share that I've got an advance copy of this piece of shiny right here in my hot little hands!  So without further ado, allow me to introduce you to Wormhole Pirates on Orbis 3!  I'd love to say that I'm going now so I can read my new lovely, but...well...just click the link!

From California to Maine in two days... )
