jackwabbit: (Mal-Use The Force)

A late addition to the 2011 www: This year's new holiday ornaments (it turns out someone was able to nab a Yoda after all!), displayed in front of [livejournal.com profile] ncb1 and [livejournal.com profile] lemonpiefirefly 's cards. (One made me think of Firefly. The other is all Fight Club.)

Peace on Earth indeed. ;)

...check out December 12 in the December Lady Advent Calendar from this year. I'm rather proud of it, and you know what? It turns out that it doesn't take nearly as long as you'd think to type out every X-Files episode title! Who knew?

Oh, and December 2 (a fun and fast fill in for an unclaimed day) and 8 (ditto, thus the shippiness of it - not usually quite my style) were made by me, too. But my favorite this year, by a long shot, is December 19. It's totally my new holiday desktop. Yup, it's the one to beat. To top it all off, this year, the calendar was even more fun than usual. In addition to the daily squee, we were also served daily flashbacks of years past on the main calendar page here. and even two full "vintage" calendars, recently recovered from the ether of the internet. A phile I only know as northernlights1013 supplied the images from 2001, 2003, and 2004. How fun! With these now in the archives, the only year missing from this ten-year extravaganza is 2002. How cool is that?

There are no less than four Skywalkers on my Christmas tree. All but one of those is called Luke. I dropped one of those this year.

I suppose, then, that this was inevitable... )

Oh, yes, it's that time of year again! Time for wabbit to post a week's worth of oddities just for fun.

Today, while I of course have to wish Jimmy Buffett happy birthday a day late (Dec 25 was his 65th, after all, and I did send him greetings via Twitter - his hair's full grey, but he hasn't disappeared, thank the Maker), I bring you something else for once.

I came across this story on Yahoo, and I just have to share it.

This man says he "just did what anyone would do in that situation."

I think not, sir. On so many levels, I think not. And I applaud you.

Text story is here.

And yes, I realize the YouTube poster either doesn't know plurals or made a typo. Guess what? I don't care. ;)
