List 10 songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now, shaping your summer. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your songs. Then tag 4 other people to see what they're listening to.

1. Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On - Jimmy Buffett (Really good and appropriate advice for me right now.)
2. We Are The Beaver - The Arrogant Worms (Nathan Fillion likes it!  What more reason do I need!)
3. The Monkey Song - The Arrogant Worms (Always and forever my favorite Worms song.)
4. On The Rise - Doctor Horrible's Sing Along Blog (Have you HEARD this song? Or for that matter, all of DHSAB?)
5. Coast of Carolina - Jimmy Buffett (Just a flat out great song that is unlikely to ever leave my Buffett top ten.)
6. Blame It On Buffett - Kelly McGuire (Because it can't be my own damn fault.)
7. Destiny Calling - James (Not sure why this one is appealing right now, but it is, dammit!)
8. Friends In Low Places - Garth Brooks (Not so into country usually, but...I need the reminder these days.)
9. Kryptonite - Three Doors Down (Recently rediscovered...)
10. Stories We Could Tell - Jimmy Buffett acoustic live from Frisco 2008.  (I FINALLY heard this live!  *dies*)

Late add: I'm also really into Duel of the Fates again right now...but when is Star Wars not good?

Ok, I don't know if this is how you 'tag' or not, but here goes...

My favorite JB song is 'Banana Republics'. Next is 'Biloxi'. Actually, pretty much anything from 'Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes'. There is not one clunker on that entire album. Just remembered 'Wonder Why We Ever Go Home'.

Ok, now I'm off to play the record. Well, actually not the RECORD but the...you know I-Tunes thingy. Man, I'm old.

Lastly, I chose this particular icon because it is my only musician type icon.

Oh, Banana Republics is a great. Biloxi is also a classic tune, and Wonder Why We Ever Go Home I often can't handle. (Meaning if I'm even slightly on the edge of depression, it can't be done.) Changes, of course, is a classic.

Ok, ten great JB songs off the top of my head, in no order:

Migration
A Pirate Looks At Forty
Tin Cup Chalice
Tryin To Reason With Hurricane Season
The Wino and I Know
Nobody Speaks To The Captain No More (the song that hooke me)
Cowboy In The Jungle
False Echoes
Tonight I Just Need My Guitar
Lone Palm

Yes, A1A is over-represented, but it's my favorite album.

And like I said, this was the first ten that popped in my head. It changes daily and by mood. But let's not forget:

ONE PARTICULAR HARBOR

Let's definitely not forget One Particular Harbor!

I understand what you mean about 'Wonder Why We Ever Go Home.' Pirate Looks at Forty is such a great song - I should have mentioned it.

My next fav album would probably be Son of a Son of a Sailor. I have to admit that I haven't heard much of his new stuff. Except, of course, that song he did with Alan Jackson.

Son of a Son rocks! It gave us Cowboy In The Jungle! (And if you're feeling suicidal, Coast of Marseilles...one day the world will realize how NOT happy so many of Jimmy's songs are...and his genius as a songwriter will finally come out...sigh...)

I go from Down To Earth to Take The Weather With You. (That's 36 years of albums...the man is nothing if not prolific.)

To be fair, you're not missing tons on the later albums, but there are a few tracks that are worth it. (Like Coast of Carolina and Tonight I Just Need My Guitar and Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On...IMHO.)

I like It's Five O'Clock Somewhere alright, but I prefer it when Mac MacNally sings it with Jimmy rather than Alan Jackson. But that's just because I LOVE MAC.

I could name great Jimmy tunes all night...I know I left out Come Monday above (that one will always be for Paul McGillion for me!) and many others, but the fact is that I could never name my favorites. So many to choose from. Sure, there are weaker ones, like, um...Math Sucks, but there are so many I love.

Make no mistake, though...if I'm blue, or very, very drunk, nothing but nothing but A1A will do. Preferably with the addition of some other classic true ballads, like Remittance Man and He Went To Paris. I don't have any children, but it's been made abundantly clear to my hubby that if I ever do, there will be A1A present at delivery. Yeah, it's like that.

Wouldn't mind Lovely Cruise at my funeral, come to think of it.

That would be a good funeral song. I'll check into the songs you mentioned. It's not really him but I hardly ever listen to new music.

Oh, heck yeah on new tunes. My favorite album was made in 1974, for cryin' out loud! But there's absolutely nothing wrong with that!!!

I did like Amy Winehouse's album. Very surprised about liking it considering all the hoopla surrounding her.

Have you read any stuff about the Cockney singer who is always in trouble with the law and drugs and alcohol? I spend too much time looking over pop culture stuff but her songs are actually very good!

I think I've heard the name, but I really don't have a clue. But that's ok. I pretty much stay to fandom, and I'm completely ok with that. Been that way since, well, ever.

Cool! I'll check her out later. Have to go to bed now...late here...good night, luv (said in my best Pauley voice, of course).
