Matty Webber and Jack Dalton went back a long way.
The specifics of that didn’t matter right now, but she knew this man.
And she’d never seen him like this.
Not after losing operatives, not after nearly dying, not even after his dad died.
But now wasn’t the time to dig deeper into that.
Now was a time for action.
So she told him (truthfully) that this wasn’t his fault and sent him to do what he did best: get the bad guy.
That hadn’t happened.
But somehow, they had MacGyver back, and that was all that mattered.
For now.
