Chakotay thought of her every day.
And not in a romantic way, though he frankly wouldn’t have been opposed to that.
After all, his feelings hadn’t changed since the angry warrior debacle – not really, anyway. Sure, he’d experimented with other alliances, but in the end, it was always her.
Just like now.
Now, when it wasn’t romance at all that brought her to mind, but something far more important.
Something she’d always represented to him, and always would.
Something he needed now more than ever.
So he conjured her face in his mind and held on.
To Kathryn.
To hope.
