The replicator chimed.

And not its happy, “I’m done” chime, but its angry “there’s a problem” chime.

Rok sighed.

No matter how many workarounds she tried, or how often Jankom played with it, this still happened.

She’d even had Janeway try to fix it.

But it wouldn’t even listen to the resident hologram.

So once again, she used Dal’s codes (everyone knew them by now) to override the system’s limitations.

“Allocation exceeded, my big red butt,” she said, punching in the numbers.

A moment later, the replicator continued its task.

And eventually, despite its protests, Rok had a new uniform.
