The last time he and Rachel had split had been one of the most brutal.
Hell, he’d packed up and moved to the middle of nowhere just to get away from it all.
That’s how ugly it had been.
And despite everything, he’d been devastated. And angry. And sad. And broken. And so many other words.
But now, he couldn’t imagine feeling any of that.
Because when Patrick thought of the break up now – the break up that had led him here to Schitt’s Creek and more importantly to David – he needed only one word to describe his feelings.
Grateful.
