David Rose seemed like a dramatic individual.

And on the surface, he was.

Patrick Brewer seemed like the responsible one.

And to all outward appearances, he was.

But as David watched his fiancé dance and sing, he grinned – the expression was part delight, and part cat that ate the canary.

Because he wasn’t surprised at all that Patrick was leaving every bit of himself on that stage.

Because he knew better than to trust appearances.

And he knew that of the two of them, there was really no question on this.

Turns out it was Patrick who loved an audience.
