For Patrick, everything with David was new.
So new, in fact, that when it came to this particular thing, awkward missteps were common. Patrick had gotten so used to fumbled miscues that murmured apologies were second nature.
But this? This was rare. So rare that it still felt new too – but in a very different way.
And it certainly didn’t warrant an apology.
No, David preceding Patrick to the brink definitely didn’t deserve that.
Instead, it called for celebration.
And if David was so sated as to not notice Patrick’s fist pump, well, Patrick certainly wasn’t going to mention it.
