It was barely there anymore.

It had been years, after all, and these things fade with time.

Even if you don’t do as you’re told by your very qualified partner.

So Paul hardly noticed his scar these days.

It was just a part of him now, and most of the time, it didn’t bother him.

Hugh didn’t seem to mind it, either. They’d long ago come to an understanding on the matter.

And yet, it still hurt sometimes.

Usually when Hugh worked late. Or when they’d fought.

In other words, mostly on the nights Paul pressed Ricky close to it
