Nearly a decade ago, I joined a Stargate Yahoo Group.

The rest, as they say, is history, but suffice to say, thanks [livejournal.com profile] dragonfly_sg1.

You'll always be my online mum.

 “Jack?”

“Yeah, Daniel?”

“It seem quiet around here to you?”

“Maybe a little. You?”

“Yeah,” answered Daniel, sounding a bit put out.

“I thought you liked it quiet,” said Jack.

“Not this quiet.”

Jack grinned. “Well, I’d enjoy it while you can. You know it won’t last.”

“Why do you say that?”

“They always come back, Daniel.”

“But what if they don’t?”

“They will.”

“How do you know?”

“Just do.”

Suddenly, a door creaked, and Jack’s grin grew.

“See?” he said.

Daniel stood and smiled as the front door opened.

Someone was coming.

Jack was right.

They always came back.

*I date my fics for myself. This line is usually deleted when I post them. But for this one, I left it quite on purpose, because this is a purly unedited repost, and there may be more of them, because I've got Happy Place fics going back to 2007, and I like it that way. *grin*
