I’ve worked enough cons to know when a wingman isn’t needed.

So I turned away.

I took myself out of the picture.

Not that she hadn’t done that already with her “brother” introduction.

I was immaterial.

Which was, of course, the point.

Still, it stung.

Enough that my avoidance wasn’t just so that I didn’t blow her plan by staring in absolute awe of her ability to bullshit.

Because damn, she’s good.

Glad it isn’t just me who falls victim to her charm.

Except that I wish it was.

That’s it, then, isn’t it?

It’s inevitable.

I am so screwed.

Yeah that slight turn in to the introduction just to be headed off at the pass so-to-speak and physically veer back away was a nice touch.
