Maybe it’s the atmosphere.

More likely it’s the whiskey.

And possibly it’s the company, though that’s a dangerous thought.

But I have rarely been as turned on as I am right now.

I can’t say that, though, so I simply state the obvious and hope I don’t give myself away.

“You can count cards.”

She makes a crack about diagnoses and I just laugh.

Because if I had a nickel for every time I was sent to a shrink, I’d be rich.

And if I had one for every time I deflected a real moment with humor, I’d be loaded.
