Then I'll Learn How To Fly!
Feb. 11th, 2009 10:55 amOk, so I'm off today...and apparently going to post like crazy. I'm trying to pare down my 'list of things to post' list, but I keep finding new fun stuff! And this, well...this just has to be done. Behold! One of my favorite scenes from Star Trek: The Next Generation EVER.
Ok, so how sad (or not?) is it that I could quote this entire thing without trying when I stumbled upon it today? I haven't seen this episode in years. In fact, I try to avoid it if I can, except for this scene. Watching young Wesley stumble through horribly cliche adolescent yearnings only to have his girl turn into a flesh-eating bear monster thing isn't exactly my style. Give me some Locutus or some Q any day. Honestly, though, I really think that I laughed about this scene for my entire high school career, and it was reenacted hundreds of times. Riker and Guinan are so much fun in it and any scene that delivers a 'shup up' to young Wesley had my vote. Oh, wait, I'm still laughing. At Riker and Guinan, who endure for always, and at the irony of my modern Wil love...ah, coming full circle. Ain't it grand?
