We’re way outnumbered, and it’s even good liquor.
It won’t kill you to keep the peace for once.
I’m tired, and every bone in my body hurts from our last job.
Now, if I need to, I’ll stow this bone-ache and scrap my way outta here beside you, but honestly I’d really rather not, and some booze might just dull my pains a bit.
Just drink it, sir, so’s I can drink mine and we can get the hell outta here.
Not likely.
I glance behind us to check Jayne’s position, and I remember we got four today.
Suddenly, the odds change. I’d forgotten she was here.
Time for a subtle reminder.
“We ain’t alone, sir.”
Your eyes follow mine. Something flickers across your face that I wouldn’t even try to classify, but next thing I know, your shot is down, and so’s mine.
“To the Alliance,” they said.
Bullshit. To Inara!
I don’t rightly care what it is makes you wanna keep her outta trouble.
And I don’t care what we’re drinkin to.
I only care that, just for today, maybe I can get shipside in one piece.
