So, Anderson and Anderson confirmed?

Meh.

Now, just now finding out that [livejournal.com profile] dragonfly_sg1 is coming to Dragon*Con? WOO-HOO!

It's still huge enough that the line for the JB panel went around the whole block. Luckily they also gave him a large room so almost everyone was able to get in. I still have to catch up with all the youtube videos. Seems those panels were something else and very funny, we got lots of enthusiastic tweets from the audience - here is a fannish but admittedly NSFW picture: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9p5iqvQfD1qiz9dwo2_1280.jpg

I just prefer going to cons where I have a number with my ticket and a special seat which belongs to me, instead of lining up for hours and always being afraid of missing something.

I love seeing all the cosplay-costumes though. Some awesome ideas there!

Yes, the lines can be crazy, but not, like, San Diego crazy. I never expected otherwise, so they don't bother me. I enjoy camping out with my fellow fans. A lot of fun stories and time to catch up comes from that time. And at D*C, you're only going to be in line for an hour, maybe two. It's not like the six hour or overnight lines of SDCC. And you're talking to someone who slept outside to see a movie once, so...yeah. I don't really mind.

The numbered seat thing does have its advantages, too, though. Much less hot, for one thing! But those types of cons here are very, um, restricted. You don't get the same experience for sure.

But that's the wonderful thing about fandom. Something for everyone!

Glad to hear the lines are not super crazy. SDCC would be definitely too big for my liking. And I just recently saw an interview where someone talked about how it started, with only 5000 people and they were selling theier used comic books... it has changed much.

Yeah, I know about the difference between fan run and commercial conventions. There was a lot of talk in the Stargate forums about Creation. I never went to one so I don't know how much of it is true. Here in Germany we got mostly co-operations with British Wolf cons, so they would share the cost for the stars travelling over here.

(no comment on the Bat pants? Thought you might like them ;) )

Indeed on all the con comments.

As for the pants, yes, fun.
