She’d heard of him, of course, but she’d never met him.

And yet he was the reason for her trip today - her first visit to the spaceport in over fifty years.

She’d been compelled to see him - to actually lay eyes on him.

And she’d done just that.

She’d seen him coldly bid goodbye to his Human mother in the obvious absence of his Vulcan father before he calmly turned and boarded the craft that would take him to Earth and Starfleet Academy.

And she’d seen that same mother blink back unshed tears as she turned and hurried home.

She spared a thought for the woman as she watched her go, understanding her plight as an outsider far too well. Then she turned to the shuttlecraft, watching as it lifted off and carried its passengers to their destiny.

When she could no longer see it, when it disappeared into the cosmos, T’Pol almost smirked, hearing her own voice from long ago in her mind.

After a moment, she couldn’t help but verbalize the phrase.

And if any passersby thought it strange to see an old Vulcan mumbling “Follow your heart, Spock,” in public, none were impolite enough to say so.

Nice!

I like this fic. T'Pol always interested me. Being an outsider and all plus there was a vulnerability about her that I found appealing. Yes, I shipped Trip/T'Pol.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I adore T'Pol, which surprised me when it happened, as I hated her initially, but she's great. The idea of a Vulcan finding her feet on a human ship and actually being vulnerable is just a compelling bit of character. And yes, I ship TnT, as well. I see no reason why this should be anything to keep shyly hidden away. ;)
