Well, not quite. This is a mashup of Sherlock and another show called Bruiser, and it's absolutely brilliant. I have to thank lemonpiefirefly for sending this my way, especially after the weekend I've had. OMGBATSHITCRAZYPEOPLE. Someone pass the battering spade, please.

I also am totally SHER-locked! Since the last episode there are lots of speculations flying through the internet about how he did it. If a TV-show can generate this kind of discussions even after weeks, then it is good.

I came into the second season with high expectations and I got not disappointed. Now if only the wait was not so long now...

Remember that series two hasn't aired here. It won't air here until May. Yes, MAY. That said, I have *ahem* seen it. Nice job on a spoiler-free comment for those who haven't, though. *grin*

And yes, it is amazing.

LPFF is a SERIOUS Holmes fan, from the actual canon, and even she loves it, so...yeah. It's outstanding television.

German TV will get the second series during Whitsun. Which is at least faster than last year. They aired the first series in July 2011, while the BBC had it in August 2010. So for me the wait for the conclusion was much longer than for my friends ;)

But our TV is all dubbed, so I'll buy the DVD anyway to have it in English. It is out since last week.

I read all the books when I was 14 and have gotten them out again now, and am amazed about how many little things I find that I recognize now from the series. You can see they really put much love into the details.

Here's a story for you: Back in my teenager days I even wrote a letter, I had read somewhere that someone answers them. Being from Eastern Germany and all, all I wanted was a real English letter with a real English stamp. Never got it (and now I doubt my letter even made it over there) but last year when we were in London for the theatre play with David Tennant, we also visited the Sherlock Holmes museum in Baker Street 221b. More than twentry years ago, I never would have even thought of this possibility. All I wanted was an English letter.

And now I am talking with friends from all over the world, as if it is nothing. Sometimes, this still amazes me.

I would also buy the DVD, but only region two is currently available, which is hard to buy here (ebay is really the only option) and it may or may not work in my computer/I may or may not be able to decode my region coding on my DVD player, so...yeah. I have to wait.

As for your story: Astra, you are one of my favorite online friends for many reasons, but the insight you bring to my world is most certainly one of them. Thanks for being a wonder.

I take it the DVD will only be available after it was aired in the TV? At least it's like this over here. Only Stargate managed to sell DVDs BEFORE it was aired in the TV. Which was very odd. At one con Peter DeLuise accused us all of watching illegal, as it had not aired yet, but we told him we had the DVDs.

Did I ever send you that long essay I once wrote (I started to answer someone's questions and it kinda grew) about how life in the GDR was and how much of it changed overnight? Let me know if you are interested in reading.

And I like your little stories as well, the onces you sometimes post. They show great insight and also a good way with words.

So, I am a wonder now. Is that more or less than a national treasure? LOL

Correct. We will not get the DVD until after it airs.

Russell Tovey put his stamp of approval on the US fans pirating Being Human two years ago at Comic-Con. It was hysterical. I've seen the vid. Everyone understands that until they make everything easily available to everyone at the same time, people will pirate, and anyone with a brain knows that that actually helps sell their show in the long run, so...yeah.

You did send me that essay. It's marvelous!

When I said Peter DeLuise accused us of cheating I meant of course that he did so with a twinkle in his eye ;)
At one time I was at a German convention where they had invited Paul McGillion for the first time, but Atlantis had not aired yet in Germany. So only those that watched illegally knew who he was, and I didn't. I thought that was weird. It also has often happened that I read English Stargate fanfictions and only half a year later after seeing the episode I know what they were about.

I think they should understand that we fans want to talk about our shows, and they cannot expect that you avoid Twitter and Tumblr and whatever just to get no spoilers. That is silly. And especially with such shows as Sherlock where there is huge talking it is impossible to avoid everything.

I am too lazy to hunt all shows down, so I do it only for those that I am really a fan of. For others I like to watch them on regular TV at a set time. Monday is "Eureka" day and Wednesday is "Desperate Housewives" day. Especially the latter is very quick, we are only a few weeks behind the US, and that is impressive since they have to do all the dubbing.

Still waiting for "Being Human" to come to our TV - but I already knew Russel Tovey before "Sherlock" - he's been in "Doctor Who" as well.

Yeah, it's nuts that they don't make it easier for everyone to watch. And I knew that about Russell. He gets around, that boy! ;)
