Non-Political Meme
1. Stop talking about politics for a moment or two.
2. Post a reasonably-sized picture in your LJ, NOT under a cut tag, of something pleasant, such as an adorable kitten, or a fluffy white cloud, or a bottle of booze. Something that has NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS.
3. Include these instructions.

LET.  IT.  GO.  (Thanks, Wil.)

Indeed. Do you know the story of this pic? I almost put it with it, but it's too much for straight public view for me...

You can read it on Wil's blog, though, so I think it's ok to share. A while ago, Wil went to a family wedding on a beach. After the ceremony, family members tossed flowers into the sea to commemorate loved ones who had passed away and could not be present at the wedding.

This pic is of Wil's father.

Afterwards, the flowers washed back up on the beach, returning to the sender. It's a lovely, lovely story, and this is far and away my favorite pic from that day that Wil so graciously shared with his readers.

Sigh...

I did not know exactly what the picture had captured, but it reminded me descriptions of Don S. Davis' funeral. I'm glad to know the circumstances (even though I am embarrassed that I had to imdb Wil to remember exactly who he was *blush*)

The action of the man in the photograph, facing the action of the sea--the entire picture is full of movement. Powerful.

(((JW))) Fitful, frustrating days, these. But I survive them, with the help of my friends! *myhead-yourshoulder*

Well, that's about right for what it was, so you were totally on track.

I have no idea how I discovered Wil as an adult. I've read his blog, off and on, for years, but I can't recall how I found it. I was never a Wesley fan, but I've also never had a problem with realizing that Wil is not Wesley and never was. However, as a Wesley hater (oh, I was), it's odd that I stumbled on to Wil later.

But I'm glad I did. He's funny, charming, and mostly clever, but more importantly, he really is a just a geek. Like so many of us.

And he shares very cool pics, like the one above. I'm glad you liked it-I love it for the reasons you mentioned, too. It's just such a wonderful capture of a moment in time.

Hugs back, and I'll talk to you later. Hang in there, luv.

Peace and Long Life.
