jackwabbit: (Softwire-2nd printing)
[personal profile] jackwabbit
It is a little known fact that the children's book buyer for Barnes & Noble stores believes that science fiction makes poor books and that kids don't like it.  He tends not to put it on his shelves.  So, when my friend PJ Haarsma wrote The Softwire, they declined to carry the book.  The Softwire is now in its second printing, and it is sold exculsively online.  But apparently even Barnes & Noble Powers That Be read The New York Times.

This came straight from PJ today, and I couldn't be happier.
------
ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
The Softwire will now be a available at Barnes and Noble. Because of the New York Times article B&N has made a substantial order of The Softwire series. The president of Candlewick informed me today. The books have already shipped.  Thank you once again!
------
So, when next you encounter the insurmountable, push forward, and fear nothing.

YAY PEEJ!!!!!

This is GREAT!

*grumble grumble silly bookbuyers and their strange ways*
...but HEY, whatever floats the guy's boat! Likes an article, finally buys books, great. Go them. They WON'T regret it!
SciFi adults come from SciFi kids, and there are lots of both!

SO HAPPY FOR YOU, P.J.!
