jackwabbit: (Murdock-Good Crazy)

So, I went to see Ironman 2 tonight (damn enjoyable, but 1>2, as per usual). As I was leaving the theater (stay til the end, folks!), I heard a guy describing The Avengers to someone. I looked at the source of the voice. It was a thirty-something guy talking to a buddy in a Green Lantern shirt. (Thus the explanation - he's obviously a DC guy.) I loved that. But even better was their friend, who was modeling a G.I. Joe t-shirt. I caught his eye and gave him a quiet "nice shirt" on my way by. He nodded and mouthed a "thanks." Ah, so nice to be amongst one's own. Peace. Love. Fandom.

I was astounded how many people left as the credits started. I mean, helloooooo? How could not expect something at the end of the credits? They did it in the first film, and you know they're going to do it again. Maybe they never stayed for the first one and they aren't online so they never heard about it and they never watched the DVD that way and they have no clue about the Marvel universe? I guess that's possible, but where do people like that come from? Mars? I mean...how weird.

Oh, and dude? I got chills seeing the thing after the credits. *shiver* Have you seen the first still of Thor yet?

This Marvel fangirl is squeeing like crazy over the way they are bringing the movies together the way they did/do the comics. It's a huge undertaking, and I know a lot of people won't "get it," but it's very, well, comic-like. I'm concerned they are trying to do too much too fast, but so far they have maintained the integrity of the Avengers line, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm extremely tickled that they introduced Cap's shield, too. I mean, Tony Stark and that shield go waaaay back, so...yeah.

I don't think I've ever in life read a comic, but I'm REALLY enjoying the movies they are putting out.

But you still knew to stay to the end! I'm just saying that I can't fathom how people could not know to do that! I mean, there's so many ways to know to do that that you'd have to live under a rock not to know that.

Incidentally, my local comic shop has buy one, get one free trade paperbacks today...hm...

So, um, did you know what that was at the end, then? Surely you did?

Well, it doesn't mean a ton...just that Thor is coming soon! And that they are forming the Avengers! Whee!

I love Thor. Though I admittedly love Loki more. I only have a few issues of Thor, but I always liked it.

Oh, and way to spoil, there, T. I was trying to not do that! *g* But yes, it was obviously Mjolnir.
