I read XKCD.  Shocker, I know.  I don't read it every day, but most days I catch this wonderful stick-figure world.  I saw the start of this theme yesterday, but didn't share it until now because I wasn't sure where it was going.  Now, though, it must be distributed to the masses (or, you know, at least my flist).  Nathan Fillion, Malcolm Reynolds, Captain Hammer, and skateboards!  Oh, my!

Start here: http://xkcd.com/577/  The next part is here: http://xkcd.com/578/

Read the mouse-overs, too, folks.  And be sure to tune in every day this week for more!  Now back to work!

Dear Dom,

Thank you for years of entertainment and characters too wonderful to ever forget.  I'm sorry to see you go, but I know that is the way of things.  No one can stay longer than they can stay.  Thanks for sharing a bit of your journey with us.

And now, because I think he'd want it this way:

Happy Cinco De Mayo.  Here's a story from last year to brighten your day as you lift a toast to the big guy.

I saw this yesterday, but couldn't bring myself to watch it until I knew it was spoiler-free.  Since I now know that it's clean as the fake snow on the ski slopes of the holodeck, I gave it whirl.  And boy am I glad I did.  I'm still on the fence about the new Trek film (and it's "younger, edgier crew"), but I can definitely laugh about this. This is satire at its best.  Well done, Onion, well done.  Live long and prosper.  Oh, and on the fence or not...I'm there this weekend!  I mean, seriously. IT'S TREK!*

*also, there's a Paul McGillion cameo.
