Writer's Block: Reminiscing about the Internet

The very first thing I remember doing on the internet was reading X-Files fanfic. And visiting X-Files fan sites.

I'm sure I used it for research, because I was in college, but um...yeah...don't remember that. I do remember looking up episode titles, printing out pics to put on my desk, discovering what passed for forums then, and talking to other fans.

So, um, yeah...not much has changed as far as my internet use.

Speaking of which, have I pimped December Lady's advent calendar today? No?

As for how it changed my life, well, we don't have time for that conversation!

Let's just say I'd never be where I am today without it!

Well, let's see... I discovered this little place called "Geocities", which I could use to practice some of that "HTML" stuff they taught me at my middle school.

Next week, I get my associate's degree in Web Development & Administration. How's THAT for life-changing?

Dude. You cannot be that much younger than me. Cannot.

Okay, so I know that you are, but still...it's not that many years. Oh, how quickly things change.

I first got email when I was nineteen. Internet? Twenty. Home internet? Twenty three, I think. My own computer? Twenty five.

I wrote my first fic at thirty.

And that, my friend, was also life-changing.

It's been a journey, that's for sure!

(By the way, I'm so totally happy for you, just so you know.)
