[Error: unknown template qotd]One word:  FIREFLY.

Why?  Um...does one really have to ask that?  This show was cut down in its youth, and it is far and away one of the best (if not the best) sci-fi shows I've ever seen.  No!  Wait!  I have a new answer.

Ten words, my friends, ten words: Mal.  Zoe.  Wash.  Inara.  Jayne.  Book.  Kaylee.  Simon.  River.  Serenity.

SG-1, you are my heart.  Star Trek, you are my blood.  Atlantis, you are the bones of my flesh.  X-Files, you are my viscera, as suits you...but Firefly, oh, Firefly, you are my soul.

And while I would give every last drop of my blood for one more season of sailing across the Galaxy with Captain Kirk in the original Star Trek, it would take divine intervention to see it happen. Alas, the specter of death has taken Bones and Scotty and we will never again see their equal.
But has not their spirits surfaced again in Firefly?
Are today's youth so far removed from that ancient founding father of modern sci-fi that they remember not that Star Trek was once referred to as the "Wagon Train of the Stars"?

Rise again oh Firefly and capture the imagination of the young as the greatest of all TV shows once captured the imagination of those who came before.
