Remus Lupin was very intelligent.

Perhaps too much so. Always had been.

James and Sirius had constantly told him to turn his brain off; to stop thinking so much and just enjoy the moment.

Well, they’d be proud of him now, even if he wasn’t.

He’d let another part of his body do the thinking tonight.

Now he was wide awake with a slumbering pink-haired head on his chest.

Through the room’s open window, he stared at the tiniest sliver of the moon behind wispy clouds.

And it was a long, long time before his brain allowed him to sleep.
