Christmas in July
Jul. 19th, 2009 10:39 amBeen meaning to post these for ages, but if anyone wants a bit of winter comfort, here ya go!
Oh, and there's books, too! Welcome to a most lovely place - the rare family bookstore!

I think I'll let the pictures do the talking:

Forgive my then-inexperienced iPhone photo skills, but I think you get the idea of how wonderful this little bookstore is. Oh, and for the record? This shop smells better than just about anywhere on the planet.

Two stories, both completely filled floor to ceiling with books. They specialize in rare books about Maine and New England but carry just about everything. Some records and such in one corner upstairs, but mostly tomes everywhere!
I posted two more pics. The first new one is just for you. That's the landing at the top of the stairs. Stairs go up to a dead end wall. You take a right and there's this short hallway that ends in a tee. On the right is one reading room. On the left, another. But in the hallway? The Westerns!
Again, sorry the pictures are blurry. The iPhone camera isn't great, and if you move, you get blurs. Sometimes, I'm not so good about compensating for that.
