1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?

And here we go, slightly out of order:
Stargate
1-that would belemonpiefirefly . See, like me, she'd seen some episodes of SG-1 on syndicated television and thought they didn't look so hot. But then she actually watched a few, got interested, and ended up with the first season on DVD. And the rest, for her, is history. My story is similar. See, this dear friend of mine, she leant me the first season after she'd gotten hooked and owned all the rest. This first season (or maybe it was just the first disc?) sat on my entertainment center for months. One day, hubby and I got bored. We watched it. We watched at least two episodes of Stargate every night from then on until we caught up with where the first run shows were, which was season eight. Been watching ever since. Went to Atlantis with my friends and still on their bandwagon now, though I'm uncertain of Stargate Universe and I'd rather have more SGA, thank yew.
2-I don't think I'm going anywhere. Ever. Stargate SG-1 made me a writer, and I can never repay that debt. Stargate changed my life. Many fandoms do that for many people, but without the lovely characters of SG-1, I'd have never written a fic. Without that first, horrific little story, I wouldn't be where I am now (blogging for KNTR, blogging for SFX, working on some original fiction, and writing not one but two novel length stories - one fic and one original for NaNoWriMo), and I enjoy writing too much to contemplate that for long. So, yeah...when I die, just send me through to Pegasus, please.
3-oh...at this moment? SG-1: Paradise Lost, Abyss, Lost City, The Other Side, The Light, Lifeboat, 200, Unending, Talion, Reckoning 2, Evolution 2, Grace, Heroes 2, Fire and Water, The Other Guys. SGA: Poisoning the Well, McKay and Mrs. Miller, Miller's Crossing, The Shrine, Common Ground, The Storm and The Eye, Kindred II (SAVED CARSON BECKETT, GOD DAMMIT!), Outsiders, Tao of Rodney, Sateda, Duet.
4-161 stories seem to say yes.
5-Spinning is so much cooler than not spinning.
Firefly
1-I'm surelemonpiefirefly would like to take credit for this, too, but I fear I can only give her 50% of it. 45% belongs to Stargate, and 5% belongs to the sci-fi world at large. See, dearest LPFF would occasionally mention something like "hey, you should watch Firefly" in discussions. I always agreed but never got around to it. That is, until the 200th episode of Stargate, which contains the most blatant of Firefly references in the series. Add to that the general opinion of the show in the circles in which I move, and I gave in. I caved. I got Firefly from Netflix. By the second disc, I bought the series. Yeah, it's like that.
2-I will die a Browncoat.
3-Three words. Out. Of. Gas.
4-74 fics would agree, and my involvement in Kids Need to Read is 100% Firefly's fault.
5-keep her flyin.
Pirates of the Carribean
1-merely by seeing the first movie, which I loved because I love almost all things pirate and because it's awesome.
2-hm...I'm not really involved in this fandom, so I think I'll move on. I'll always like the first movie and to some degree the others, but I don't see myself blogging about POTC in two years, or even next week.
3-Curse of the Black Pearl, of course.
4-not really. I've played with a bit of graphics, but not much.
5-I think you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest...honestly!

One interesting thing about SG is that for some reason, SG fans are very much skewed to the female side of things. I know guys who like SG, but they are few and far between. Trek and Wars go the other way and Firefly runs right down the middle, I find. It is what it is.
Oh, and the Firefly stuff gets more prominent in SGA once Jewel comes on board, for better or worse. (You don't want to know how I feel about her character, so I just won't say.)
