Yes, I did read your recap, and I did agree with it for the most part. I've thought more about this film today and talked it over with a friend and read more recaps and talked to more fans online and, well...yeah...thumbs up from me.
Now, moving on:
Paul McGillion is the actor who played Carson Beckett in Stargate Atlantis. He's guested on The X-Files, Stargate SG-1, and lots of other things. He's one of the stars of the Indie film A Dog's Breakfast, written and directed by David Hewlett (Rodney McKay on Stargate Atlantis). He's also in another Indie film entitled See Grace Fly and lots of other things here and there.
But most of us know him as Carson Beckett.
That's how I know him for the most part. Carson was how I learned of Paul, but then I explored many of this other roles and I truly appreciate his work in general.
However, much like Nathan Fillion, I am not a Paul McGillion fan for anything he's done on screen nearly as much as I am for what he's done off of it.
Nathan Fillion is PJ Haarsma's friend, so I'm in his camp. That's pretty much all it boils down to. I like him plenty for many other reasons, and I wouldn't "know" PJ if not for Nate, but the reason I'm a true Fillionaire now is because of PJ and KNTR and some things that have happened to me personally off screen, etc.
And that's why I love Pauley, too.
I met Paul McGillion at a con some time ago. Now, I've met a fair number of stars, but no one (NO ONE) has ever been nicer or more personable or sweeter to me than Paul McGillion.
I loved him as an actor, and I was a huge Carson fan before I ever met Paul, but afterward...let's just say I'm Pauley's girl. Paul has continued to amaze me in the years since I met him. He took the time to call thirteen fans (one of whom was my BFF lemonpiefirefly) stuck in a hotel room at a canceled con. He made a video for a friend of mine.
In short, he's a fan's star.
He had a short cameo in this film as a consolation for not getting the role of Scotty in the final callback.
