She always thought if she found the Protostar, she’d find him.

But now, the Protostar was gone.

And with it, any chance of finding him.

It wasn’t fair.

Which she’d learned long ago. But still – how could the same person experience both sides of this?

First, being lost .

And then, losing someone in much the same way.

It wasn’t right.

And the last thing Kathryn wanted was to sit through yet another briefing about it.

Especially once she heard his voice.

That was just cruel.

But then, the words were new.

And that’s all it took.

Admiral Janeway was back.
