Janeway wasn’t supposed to be there.

Not exactly, anyway.

But there was no crime in taking a slightly longer route to her destination.

One that took her by the science lab.

And if she paused for a moment – if a very enthusiastic student caught her eye – well, who could blame her?

Janeway smiled as the pupil clapped her hands over some new discovery.

Then she turned and continued on her way, smile not fading as she mulled over her largest warrant officer-in-training.

She already knew what was in Rok’s nature.

Now to see what could happen if that was nutured.
