Zero was the only one who had any idea how things worked.

After all, Zero had once had a homeworld.

The others, not so much.

Whatever fragmented memories they had didn’t include belonging or protection.

They didn’t understand that home wasn’t a place, but a feeling.

And while a place could take on such significance, so could a person.

So it wasn’t until they made it to Earth that they realized losing the Protostar wasn’t the loss of the only home they’d ever known.

Because there – right there in front of them – was Admiral Kathryn Janeway.

Home.
