The battle began with Wil in a commanding lead, but then the Whedonites arrived in full force after word of this contest was posted on Whedonesque.  The fates flip-flopped.  Mr. Mo Mentum changed his address.  Joss pulled way ahead.  Over the next few days, Wil steadily gained on Joss, but the gap was too huge to overcome...it looked like all was lost for Wil.  But then, out of the blue, Fark and Scalzi and GeekDad threw their considerable political weight behind Wil, and the rest, as they say, is history.  Truly, there can be only one.  For the full story, complete with statistics and such, listen to Paul and Storm's latest podcast here.

He's more suited to the post, more involved in geek affairs, really. And Joss wouldn't have had the time to fulfil all the imaginary duties of such a post anyway.
