I voted for Felicia, because while Joss writes shows for geeks, I think Felicia is more of a geek in real life. This was a really tough call for me, and I thought a LOT about it. I hated to go against the creator, but the deciding factor was that Felicia did The Guild all on her own and such while Joss did what was expected of him as a third-generation TV writer. Yes, his shows have rocked, but it's still what his father and grandfather did. Felicia's initiative to make something great (and totally unrelated to her job as a violinist) out of nothing pushed me over to her side. I mean, Dr. Horrible is the same thing, but it was modeled on The Guild, and Joss already had the contacts to do it, so it wasn't so much of a sacrifice for him. And also...Felicia's friends with Wil, but that was less a factor than the fact that if we gave Joss Whedon that much power Barack Obama would no longer be President. Sasha or Malia would be in charge. So much for a cute little puppy for the White House. They'd have a big Rottweiler at their side and they'd be toting big huge guns and kicking everyone's ass! (Thinking on it now, that might be fun to see...Joss's brand of feminism on a global scale!)
I voted for Simon Pegg because he's Simon Pegg (OMG! SPACED! HATES EPISODE ONE! LOVES GILLIAN ANDERSON!) and because he's a real person. Also, I'm not sure Kaylee is a geek. She knows her engines and such, but she's also pretty damn cool, loves high society, etc...just not sure.
I voted for Gabe and Tycho because Penny Arcade rocks.
And on that last one, well...ahem...I voted for Wil.
BTW, Wil beat Hawking by less than 100 votes! THAT was a tight race. Looks like Whedon/Day is going to be another nailbiter!
