So, I first saw the preview for this movie in the late fall of 2006.  I could have been early winter 2007.  All I can say for sure is that it was cold, I was snuggled under a ton of blankets, and I lived in my house in Raymond, which puts us at November 2006-May 2007.  Yeah, I didn't live there long.

Anyway...I saw the preview there on a DVD from Netflix, or perhaps one of my Kevin Smith DVDs (this seems more right to me) that I'm too tired to go and check out now.  It's Clerks II, folks.  Circa 2006.  (Did you really think I wouldn't look?)  Then this film disappeared.  It resurfaced here and there, and the wind blew whispers of it to me every so often, but I'd given it up for gone.

This made me sad, as it looked incredibly cheesy but perhaps quite fun if one didn't take it too seriously.

Lo and behold, I was wrong about its demise!  Fanboys was released today!  I've got no theaters airing it within 40 miles of my house, but that's beside the point.  If it's released in theaters, we'll get a DVD, right?  And this is definitely a 'watch it on DVD' movie.  Netflix, put it on my queue, please.

Yeah, I have been stoked since the teaser on Clerks II, and then I had searched a few times online and there were no suggestions of a release date. Then a couple months ago I was at some movie or another and saw a trailer. SQUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEE!, thunk I.

The Austin Browncoats watched it last night. Bummer, I couldn't get here in time. Anyway, I was just reading Glen your post and he said, "You might wonder why they made a Fanboys movie and not a Fangirls movie. Well, even Fangirls couldn't stand to watch it-it'd be too annoying!"
Thanks.
Glen.

I have heard whispers...but only whispers...and now it's back! YAY! I haven't seen a movie in the theater in ages. I think I should remedy that shortly.

As for the Browncoats, that rocks. And Glen, well...

Hey, I'm all for original plots instead of studio interference!

It looks like this was a limited release. Eight cities only.

Maybe more soon. Sigh...
