That quote pops into my head so often, ha ha. I generally go for the funny, though, when picking favorites. I'd listed "Home, Bad Blood, War of the Caprophages, Jose Chung's From Outer Space, Hollywood A.D. . . . also, anything with the Lone Gunmen in it." But that list was pared down from my original mental list.
That Out of Gas autograph is amazing! I've liked every show that Tim Minear has written, I think. I've tried to rank my favorite Firefly episodes (http://poisonyoulove.livejournal.com/529805.html), and Shindig usually comes out on top. But if it were a situation where it would be the only episode I could watch, I don't know what I'd do!
