I did indeed. I started on Nov 1 at about ten or so in the morning, when I got up. I wrote almost 9K that day, and by Mon PM I was at 15K. I had three days off and I had to start that way to make up for the days that I wouldn't write at all. I wrote a bit on Tues after work (the minimum daily total of like 1600) then another big chunk on Wed to bring me to about 20 K. I didn't write at all Thur or Fri. Too tired from work. I was off today, so another 5K. Ditto for tomorrow, hopefully. That's my goal. 5K on days off should take care of 50K for me this month, with my schedule (it's odd, don't ask).
To be honest, writing 2K in a day is pretty easy for me. I've been doing it for ages with fic off and on. However, doing it every day is brutal (since it's not my job), and pushing it up to 5K is painful.
And doing it on one topic? AGH! That's the killer! It's driving me CRAZY! In fact, my reward for getting to halfway is to allow myself to write something else! Give me Mal or Jack or Carson! Or all three! Let me write ten drabbles! Please?
Anyway...I digress.
As for SG, you are correct, I am a HUGE fan.
Like most shows, it takes a while to find its feet, but to be honest I was hooked from the get-go, as was my husband. We were loaned the DVDs by that demon that masquerades as lemonpiefirefly and as they say, the first one's free. They sat forever, but once we started, we watched at least two eps a night until we caught up with the broadcasts at the time, which I believe were in season eight.
I saw the movie, too, long ago...and I thought it was ok. I haven't seen it all the way through since. But the show...ah, for me, it is love. I am forever grateful to SG-1 for introducing me to creative writing as an adult. If I hadn't re-watched that episode (Beneath the Surface) that day (August 2006) and had the experience that I now know is termed 'being bitten by a bunny', I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't be doing NaNo, and I wouldn't have dear friends all over the world who improve the quality of my life more than they know.
Oh, and I'd have likely never finally gotten around to watching Firefly, either, since the inside Firefly jokes in SG's 200th episode finally kicked me in the butt to watch it.

Yeah...long live Stargate.
