I always fall asleep at the end. When it’s time, I’m done.

I’m spent. Finished. Completely exhausted.

And always alone.

Thank Merlin.

I can only imagine what I’d wake to if I wasn’t.

My worse nightmare is finding a face staring up at me; confused, horrified, and not yet understanding what has happened.

Alone is a godsend compared to that, so I accept my solitude willingly.

But tonight, something’s different… something’s off… oh, sweet Merlin! I’m not alone! There’s someone here!

I start to panic, then realize I know that scent.

It’s the only thing better than alone.

It’s Sirius.
