“Did you see the Golden we’ve got up front?”

“You know he’s older, right? Not a pup?”
“I know.”
“You know he’s gonna shed that scraggly black hair all over your house, right?”
“Of course.”
“He’s really strong. He’s gonna be a handful sometimes.”
“I can handle that.”
“You’ll bring him back if it doesn’t work?”
“I promise.”
“Alright, but I do have to warn you… he’s got a bit of a mischievous streak.”
“Wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“Then congratulations, Mister Potter. You’ve got yourself a dog.”

OMG! It's Sirius in girl form. (Would that be bitch Sirius? I think it would!) She is adorable! Of course, I'm biased. Meet the late, great Mollydog.
I'm twelve or thirteen here:
And I took this one at twenty-five years of age. Molly died about nine months after this was taken.
I wrote this fic purely as a Harry story of healing. I see him not being able to handle a big, black dog in his life for quite some time after losing both Sirus and Remus. But eventually, as is the way of things, we move on. We heal. And we get a second chance. So I see it going with Harry. The title of this fic refers to both Harry and his new dog star. That said, there is some personal bias involved. I do so love my big, black dogs. I believe you already know Trinity? I adopted her when I knew it was time for Molly to move on. My old girl wouldn't have had it any other way.

Date: Oct. 4th, 2009 12:18 pm (UTC)As for all-dialogue, I rather like it. Makes the reader work harder to "get" the story, but it feels better that way - sometimes there's such a thing as too much exposition.

Date: Oct. 4th, 2009 06:46 pm (UTC)As for the words, yeah...I don't know what made me do my first one years ago, but every now and then I just have to do an all-dialogue drabble. One hundred words, and every one of them speech. It's fun to see if you can get a point across that way.
