Ah, my default. Snatched from http://still-flying.net/ way back when I first started my LJ. That was only a little over a year ago, but my default icon has never changed. Reason: one very dear friend calls me 'captain' and has since long before I saw Firefly. Also, I love captains. My screen name of jackwabbit is a combination of a familial nickname of wabbit and my love of three Jacks-Jack London, Jack O'Neill, and Jack Sparrow - CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow. As the pic in my profile says, captains are love. But of all the captains I've loved and love, well, as much as it pains me to say this to Jean-Luc and some others, I'm going to quote Nathan Fillion here: "Malcolm Reynolds, well, that's the bomb." No, really. In all seriousness, I simply adore Mal, and I understand him and it is not hard at all for me to hear him, and...ok, I'll stop.

Made by me. That's me and Michael Shanks at a Stargate con in New Jersey in 2007, and, um...that's a story right there. My husband once remarked on this event that I was more up than Shanks, and for any of you who have seen him, you know that takes a lot. But, you know, four cups of tea will do that. I do believe I'll have to post that story in another post. I'll link to it when it's done.

Made by iconsofisis. Jack O'Neill, in Abyss (one of the greatest episodes of Stargate SG-1 EVER). Needed a thanks icon, and only Jack and Daniel friendship would do.

Made by
lemonpiefirefly , just after the younger Fillion's episode of PG-Porn (Nailing Your Wife) was released. Just a general, well, OH YEAH icon. Because, really, Nate does cheese so well.

Made by me, after seeing the Castle promo trailer for about the hundreth time. Why? Well, because it was pretty. Truth be told, though, I don't use this much, so it might have to go soon.

Oh, one of the greatest icons I've ever seen! I'm not a huge animated icon fan, but this one...oh, yeah. Nothing fancy, but oh so right. It's NaNoWriMo and it's The End of the World flash video. What's not to love? If you've never seen The End of the World, here. Oh, eff the link. Here ya go.
And I suppose that's all!

Hey I know you!
Re: Hey I know you!
How in Hades did you find your way here?
No matter...great to have you! Most excellent to see you here!
I obviously can't do the meme thing with you (yet), as you're brand spanking new and have only one icon, but let me welcome you officially to the warren.
*clears throat*
Ahem. Welcome.
Here's a Daniel hug to brighten your day.
Re: Hey I know you!
You probably don't know this, but one of our talks is one of my fondest fandom memories. In a way, it's funny to talk to you again, as you're 'the random stranger who liked one of my stories' in my mind.
Your kind words regarding A Long Road Home will never be forgotten (in fact, they are the reason it's included in this year's Stargate Fan Awards-no way I was throwing that one out!), and you are welcome here anytime.
Also, The Bare Naked Ladies ROCK. I knew I liked you for a reason.
Re: Hey I know you!
Thanks for the welcome. Still figuring LJ out, we'll see how it goes. Oh and the Barenaked Ladies totally rock. I was so glad I got to see them one more time before Steve left -oh well. I still love them.
Thanks for the Daniel hug:)
Re: Hey I know you!
A Long Road Home does have a sequel. Intuition. Go here.
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3798429/1/Intuition
I have more ideas in this series, too, but, well, I got eaten by a Firefly, and I haven't looked back.
LJ is funny. I meant mine to be a fic archive. I was using ff.net and a few other sites, but I knew so many people who housed their fic here that I thought I'd give it a chance. Now, my LJ has turned into a place where I post all sorts of things-many times things that I want to return to myself and want to keep all in one place, like favorite vids, etc. There is actually not a lot of fic here. I do put my new stuff here, but I'm not going to take the time to move all my old stuff.
That said, I did make a master fic list (http://jackwabbit.livejournal.com/45241.html) here on LJ, finally, and that has been both invaluable and so much fun.
And the coms are fun. You can find them on any topic, and it's nice to be with like-minded folks. Very easy to keep up with fandom that way, too. If you have any questions, fire away and I'll try to help. I've only been here for about a year, but I think I've mostly got it down.
I also enjoy my little userpics and the best thing about LJ is the ability to set up your posts however you want. Public, friends only, private (you only-I use that as a mobile document storage device), or with custom friends groups where you can share your post only with a few other people if you want (lothi, lolmac, and lpff - I'm looking at you).
Anyway...I like it. Hope you do, too, but no matter what, as I said, you're welcome at the warren!
Re: Hey I know you!
Thanks for the info on LJ. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it, but trying to broaden my horizons. I noticed alot of the fandom was in LJ so thought I would check it out. Not sure of my theme yet - "sports/sci-fi fan in the semi-remote Arctic" maybe? :) Thanks for the welcome!
Re: Hey I know you!
I do love Kyle, and there is more in this series that doesn't do much J/S. One day I'll get around to to it.
The thing about writing, for me at any rate, is that sometimes (ok, almost always) I'm not in control. Intuition wrote itself, and dragged me along kicking and screaming. I like my angst and my UST, but true ship? Not so much.
So, my apologies for that. The rest of the story I like, but that part? Not so much for me, either. It's not like it's bad, just not my thing most days. Apparently, though, I go through phases with my ships like I do with everything else, and every now and then I'll indulge in reading a J/S, but writing one? Who knew?
I never thought I'd see the day that I wrote Daniel/Vala, but that's happened, too. Muses are funny things.
Anyway. Thanks for reading, and I'll talk to you later.
