The Enterprise Is Silent...

As is Nurse Chapel, Dr. Chapel, Lt. M'Ress, and the one and only Lwaxana Troi, Daughter of the Fifth House, Holder of the Sacred Chalice of Rixx, Heir to the Holy Rings of Betazed.

Join me in raising a glass of Saurian brandy to the one and only Majel Barrett Roddenberry, who left this world early this morning.  Boldly go, Majel, boldy go.

*gasp* Oh no! But how will Federation computers talk, now?

All I can say is that they'll never be the same.

=O

I hadn't heard about this. This is a sad day in the Trekkiverse indeed. *shakes head in sorrow* May her memory transcend the 24th century and beyond.

Indeed. The founders are leaving us, one by one, as is the way of this verse. Bones and Scotty, look out for our friend. And Gene, light the way...your beloved is coming.

Sad news! I hadn't heard this. She will be missed. I enjoyed Mrs. Troi very much and her ability to rile Captain Picard.

Yeah, Lwaxana was the best! If you haven't read it and need a fix, may I recommend Peter David's wonderful Q-In-Law?

Thanks for the rec. Did Peter David write Imzadi?

Affirmative. Resistance is futile.

I bet these two could have one groovy rap session.

That sucks. She seemed like quite a lady.

Indeed. As a friend said, Majel was a pain in the ass, but she was a FAN'S pain in the ass.

A very great lady has left us. *sad*

And so say most of us.

I'm still sad about this. I loved Lwaxana so much, and everything I've heard about Majel indicates that she was a really wonderful person.
When I was a teenager, Star Trek (specifically TNG) was my life.

Oh, yes. I started young, too. I used to spend about 3 hours on the phone with my best Star Trek friend dissecting every episode after it aired. My first ship was Riker/Troi. My first con was a Star Trek con in 1992, and my first star to meet was Marina Sirtis.
