A Legend Never Dies...

...except that they do.  The world lost a true salty dog yesterday.  Sail on, Captain Tony.  I never had the chance to meet you, but I feel like I've known you for years.  You will be missed, old man.

Smooth sailing, Captain.  Smooth sailing.

You can find better quality vids of this song, but this one is from today, and that's got to count for something.

I might have been wrong about those legends, you know...I think maybe they live forever, after all.

No, I know they do.

That's it. We retire in the Keys, luv.

Ah, dying ain't no fun, but you can't fault the man for not livin'.
That, it seems, he did better than most.

May the adventure continue.

Tony Tarracino was a womanizing bastard of a dirty old man...but he made no excuses for that. And there's something to be said for that. He was a true pirate in an age that frowns upon such things in general, but he somehow managed to find his home, like so many of us, in Margaritaville.

Interestingly enough, Meeting of the Minds is going on right now, and when Key West lost its lifetime mayor, the streets became one giant wake by all accounts.

Tears were shed, but many more glasses were raised, and most believe the long-term resident ghost of Captain Tony's Saloon got some company.

Yep, that sounds about right.

Cheers, mate.
