The Best One I've Found So Far

Ok, so those of us who've seen the new Star Trek film all have our lists of homages that we've noticed, right?  Well, here's one that will knock your socks off with its completeness! Spoilers, obviously. Clickie piccie to visit.

I knew 95% of this, but if you're a Trek virgin or just need a mythology refresher course, this article is a great resource.

My favorite homages:

The apple. So sweet and perfect.

The direct quotes from ST6 and ST2.

The Orion girl.

The red shirt!

Sulu's fencing.

"I'm givin her all she's got!"

"I'm a doctor, not a physicist!"

Pike's wheelchair was a nice touch.

Something I haven't seen mentioned: When Kirk bashes his head on the shuttle support strut, I'm constantly reminded of ST5, which Scotty does the same right after saying "I know this ship like the back of me hand."

There are more, but I have to go now.  Kthxbai!

LOL! It also reminded me of LOTR:FOTR when Gandolf hits his head in Bag End.

Also, when Scotty ends up in the water tank after beaming onto the Enterprise and taps on the wall of the tank to get Kirk's attention, does it also remind you of the time he tapped "stand back" to Kirk on a wall in Morse code before demolishing it? I did. (Btw, which movie is that?? I'm in serious need to review the ST movies featuring TOS characters.)

Okay. After a little research, I think it was ST5 where Scotty was using the explosives as an escape device. *sigh* I really need to run by the library and borrow those movies.

Oy! I'd forgotten about that. And it's nebulous at best now.

Since I canna remember where it's from, I'm going to agree with you below and say it's likely ST5, which is, um...a bit special.
