When Inara mentioned goin’ to a “renaissance festival,” I so wasn’t interested.

Her calling it a “fete” didn’t help.

Anything needin’ a fancy name and not callin’ itself somethin’ honest like “big outside party” ain’t gettin’ my respect.

Still, I might’ve gone had Simon not clued me in on one very important detail.

But now… no ruttin’ way I’m goin’.

Inara could dress her little “fete” up like a gorram bunny and coat it in real sugar and I still wouldn’t go near it.

I’ve learned my lesson, thank you.

I ain’t goin’ within five miles of men with swords.
